Avila is a small town, so the coffee list is short. Most of it sits on Front Street, a few steps from the sand. A couple more spots are inland along the Bob Jones Trail, so you can grab a cup before a walk or ride to the beach.

Making a morning of it

Coffee and a walk is the classic Avila start. Pick up a cup on Front Street and walk the promenade, or head out to Harford Pier to watch the fishing boats. The Avila Beach Pier is mostly closed for repairs, so Harford Pier is the one to walk for now. From the valley, start at Woodstone Marketplace and follow the Bob Jones Trail toward the beach.

Local tips

  • Take your coffee down to the sand at sunrise, before the town wakes up.
  • If you're walking the Bob Jones Trail from the valley, Woodstone Marketplace is a good place to start with a coffee in hand.
  • Fat Cats Cafe at Harford Pier is the pick when you want a sit-down breakfast with your coffee.
