Avila Beach is a small town with a full calendar. Most of the year's big moments happen outdoors, on the promenade, at Port San Luis or up on the bluff at the Point San Luis Lighthouse.
From May to September, Friday evenings belong to the Avila Beach Farmers Market, with local produce, food from local restaurants and live music on the promenade. July 4 brings the Civic Association's doggie parade. Summer is also concert season, with the sold-out Live at the Lighthouse series and shows at The Avila, the newly renamed golf resort, plus live music at Mulligan's most weeks.
Fall is busy too. October brings the Avila Beach Outrigger Expo and the City to the Sea Half Marathon, which finishes in Avila. In winter, the lighthouse runs Victorian Christmas tours, and Alapay Cellars has a winemaker dinner set for February 2027.

Event days fill Avila's parking fast. Check the parking guide and the free summer trolley before you go, and note that the Avila Beach Pier is mostly closed for repairs.
