On Friday evenings in summer, Avila's promenade turns into a street fair. Farm stands and food booths line the promenade, a band plays, and people drift between the market and the sand as the sun goes down. It's one of the easiest ways to feel like a local for a night.
When and where
The market runs Fridays from 4 to 8 p.m. on the Avila Promenade. 2026 was its 24th season. It opened May 1, and in August KSBY reported it would run every Friday through mid-October.

Getting there
Downtown parking fills up fast on summer Friday evenings. The free Avila-Pismo trolley runs Friday afternoons and evenings in summer, from the Pismo Beach Premium Outlets to Avila, so you can park there and ride in. Grab dinner from a vendor or one of the restaurants on Front Street, then walk down to the beach for sunset. For produce outside market season, try Avila Valley Barn and the See Canyon orchards; see farms and the Apple Trail.

- Come around 4 p.m. for the best produce and parking, or after 6 for music and the sunset.
- Ride the free summer trolley from the Pismo outlets and skip downtown parking.
- Bring a bag for produce and a blanket for the sand.
