Avila-Beach.com is a travel guide run by Jay Olson. The site has no accounts, no sign-up and no forms, so I don't collect your name, email or any other personal details unless you choose to email me. This page explains what the services the site uses can see.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
The site shows ads served by Google AdSense, which helps pay for it. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It records things like the pages you view, how you arrived, your general location (city level), and your device and browser. It doesn't tell me who you are. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or your browser's privacy settings.
Weather, tides and fonts
To show today's weather and the next low tide, your browser asks Open-Meteo and NOAA for the latest numbers. Text on the site uses fonts from Google Fonts. Like any website, these services can see your IP address when your browser loads from them. No other information is sent.
If you email me, I use your email only to reply. I don't sell it, share it or add it to a mailing list.
Links to other sites
The site links to businesses, booking sites and official sources. Their privacy practices are their own, so check their policies.
Your choices and rights
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and still use the whole site. California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information is collected and to opt out of its sale or sharing. This site doesn't sell personal information. Ad and analytics cookies are handled by Google as described above, and you can opt out with the links in those sections.
Children
The site isn't aimed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect information from them.
