Avila Beach House
An all-suites hotel across from the sand, one block from the pier. It was Avila Lighthouse Suites until a renovation and rebrand in 2026. Its 54 two-room suites have living rooms and mini-kitchens, and many have ocean views. There's a heated oceanfront pool and hot tub, continental breakfast and underground parking. Good for families who want space.

Inn at Avila Beach
A three-story inn right on the water with 31 rooms and suites, each with its own decor. The rooftop is home to Joe Momma's Coffee, where you can have breakfast looking out at the Pacific. Free extras include beach cruisers, beach chairs, umbrellas and parking. There's no elevator.

In town
Avila La Fonda
A small boutique hotel about a block from the beach, styled after a Mexican village, with colorful casitas, stained glass and fountains. Its 28 rooms are each decorated differently, with private indoor hot tubs. Breakfast and covered parking are included, and some rooms are dog friendly. Two floors, no elevator.

Avila Village Inn
A boutique inn in the valley, a short distance from downtown, next to the Bob Jones Trail. A 2025 expansion brought it to 48 rooms and suites across two buildings. Some rooms take pets, and select rooms have balconies with soaking tubs. Guests get free bikes and access to the Avila Bay Athletic Club.

Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort & Spa

How to choose
Walk everywhere: Stay on Front Street or at Avila La Fonda. You won't need your car for the beach, restaurants or tasting rooms. While the Avila Beach Pier is mostly closed for repairs, you can still walk the promenade, and Harford Pier is a short drive away.
Hot tubs and quiet: Sycamore Mineral Springs is built around its mineral springs. Avila Village Inn is quieter than downtown and close to the trail.
Families: Avila Beach House gives you a two-room suite and a pool across from the beach.
On a budget: Look at vacation rentals, camping and RV parks, or places to stay nearby in Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo.
