Live music at Mulligan's, through October 31

Mulligan's Bar & Grill at The Avila has local bands Thursday through Sunday all month, usually 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays and in the afternoon on weekends. The rest of October's lineup includes Easy Degrees, Reel to Real 805, Ray Jaurique Band, Critical Mass, Knotty Fingers, Joy Polloi Band, Rideshare Jazz and Soleffect.

Modest Mouse at The Avila, Thursday, October 22

An evening concert at The Avila (the former Avila Beach Golf Resort), with the sun setting behind the stage. The ticket listing gives a 4 p.m. start, while Mulligan's calendar lists 7 p.m., so check your ticket. Ticket sales have moved from Tixr to POSH, so follow the event page for the current link.

Spaghetti Dinner & Bingo Night, Friday, October 23

The Avila Beach Civic Association hosts a spaghetti dinner with salad, garlic bread and dessert, then bingo. Costumes are encouraged and prizes are given out. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for kids under 6, including the first bingo card. Proceeds support the Community Center.

The Avila Reveal, Saturday, October 24

Avila Beach Golf Resort is now The Avila, and this is the launch party. Expect a ribbon cutting, live music from Graybill and The Molly Ringwald Project, food and drink specials, golf giveaways and tours of the updated event spaces.

Sinor-LaVallee Wine Club Pick-Up Party, October 23 and 24

For wine club members only, at the Avila Beach tasting room. Reservations required.

Autumn Wellness Retreat at Sycamore Mineral Springs, October 28 to 30

A two-night retreat with workshops, coaching, garden-to-table meals, a sound bath and a group mineral springs soak. The resort lists $1,850 per person for single occupancy and $1,450 per person for double, including your suite.

Qigong Lighthouse Fundraiser, Saturday, October 31

The second annual qigong morning at the Point San Luis Lighthouse, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. You donate $20 and register separately for the hike out to the lighthouse on PG&E's trail site.

November 2026

Big Fish Little Fish at the Central Coast Aquarium, every other Tuesday

A parent-and-child program for ages 2 to 5, 10 to 11 a.m., starting November 3. Drop-ins are $30 per child while spots last, and monthly plans are available.

Point San Luis Lighthouse tours, Wednesdays and Saturdays

The lighthouse runs tours every Wednesday and Saturday. Buy tickets ahead on the lighthouse website. Private Victorian luncheons for groups of up to six are also available from October 2026 through June 2027.

We haven't found any other November events with confirmed dates yet. We'll add them as organizers post them. For holiday parties, The Avila notes that December dates fill quickly.

Already past this month

The Avila Beach Outrigger Expo (October 9 and 10) and the City to the Sea Half Marathon & 5K (October 18), which finishes in Avila, have already happened this year. See Annual Events for what to expect next year.

Also good to know

The Avila Beach Pier is mostly closed for repairs. Harford Pier at Port San Luis is open if you want a pier walk between events. For a meal before a show, see Restaurants.
