Peloton Cellars is the tasting room on Front Street, at number 470. You can taste, or order wine by the glass or bottle, inside or out on the patio a few steps from the beach. It's open every day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The wines

Co-owner and winemaker Bill Kesselring makes balanced reds and crisp whites from small-lot vineyards on the Central Coast that the winery farms itself. The focus is on the farming, starting with pruning in the vineyard.

On the Front Street block

Peloton shares the block with Blue Moon Over Avila and Shuck Shack, so it's easy to go from a glass of wine to dinner or oysters. For the rest of the tasting rooms in town, see Wine Tasting.

Local tips

  • Sit on the patio, a few steps from the beach.
  • Order a glass instead of a flight if you just want to watch the beach for a while.
  • Blue Moon Over Avila and Shuck Shack are next door if you want dinner after.
